L&R helping to develop new cultural facilities at former heritage glass factory

Ruskin Mill Education Trust has appointed L&R Consulting to help them develop  a Stage Two Heritage Lottery Fund application for the Glasshouse College campus in Stourbridge.  The £3.7m project involves the next stage of a scheme to refurbish a former crystal glass making factory. This will provide additional workspace for craft workers, enhanced student learning, performance and temporary exhibitions space and improved catering and retail facilities.  

L&R will explore market demand and work with the College to refine the business concept and dovetail the funding plan with grant support already received from Advantage West Midlands and Arts Council England.

Developing a Tourism and Visitor Economy Framework for Chester and Cheshire

Visit Chester and Cheshire has appointed L&R Consulting to create a new 10 year tourism framework. The aim is deliver an inspiring vision with clear priorities that is a guide for investment. The framework will provide a fresh and focused direction of travel for tourism in Cheshire & Warrington that is fit for the times. L&R is also developing a three year action plan to kick start the strategy into action. L&R will work closely with tourism champions in Cheshire & Warrington to create a way forward that is commercially focussed and encourages strong business engagement in its delivery.

L&R helping to develop a major events strategy for the city of Belfast

Belfast City Council has appointed L&R Consulting and Festivals and Events International to help develop the council’s thinking on a new major events strategy. Over the next two months, we will explore best practice, draw out recommendations and contribute ideas on how to use major events to profile the city and develop its tourism. The work will explore an events delivery model that works well for Belfast and draw up headlines for an economic evaluation framework to measure success and help develop the city’s profile and tourism potential.
